Razor 300S is Good Kid’s Scooter

Razor E300S Seated Electric Scooter

While this seated electric scooter is made primarily for children, it will carry up to 220 pounds for up to 45 minutes on a single charge. It’s perfect for a small commute to high school, college, work, or friend’s houses for fun.

Here’s what one reviewer had to say, “We love this scooter! My daughter got it for Christmas and has been riding it a lot. We live on a gravel road and it goes well on that as well as in the grass and hardtop. We took the seat off for now so she can learn to balance better and then we will put the seat back on. My husband took it for a ride around the yard and it still zoomed with him on it. This scooter is great!”

While another review said, “I bought this for my 7 year old son and he absolutely loves it! It is fast and the battery seems to last for an afternoon of playing with the neighbors (which is always the true test)!”

Featuring a super-size deck and frame for riders of all sizes, the E300 can reach speeds of up to 15 miles per hour thanks to its high-performance, ultra-quiet chain-drive motor. The scooter also includes a pair of extra-wide 10-inch pneumatic tires to ensure a smooth ride while you zip around the neighborhood and foldable handlebars for easy storage.

The charger and tools are included with the E300, though riders should note that some assembly is required. Other details include single speed drive chain, a twist-grip throttle, and a rechargeable battery that delivers up to 45 minutes of continuous use per charge (the battery requires roughly eight hours of charge time).

The E300, which offers a weight maximum of 220 pounds, is also backed by a 90-day warranty. The scooter is very easy to control and although it’s advertised as being able to go only 15 mph it has been clocked up to 19.7 mph. The scooter when fully charged only holds its charge for only about 45 minutes, which is more than enough time for your son or daughter to get around to their friend’s houses in the neighborhood. Just charge it at night as it needs up to 8 hours to fully recharge.

Scooter Buying Advice

Question:

I’m going to college soon and would like some two-wheeled badassery like a scooter to get around campus and the surrounding urban area. I’m thinking a Zuma 125, but I’m not positive it’s up to the task. I’ll need it to be able to do 50+ (45 zones are the highest I’ll generally be in). Is a 125cc enough power for a daily driver? Any other tips/advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated, being a newbie and all. Thanks in advance!

Answers:

These answers are from the original post on Reddit Scooters.

“My BWS 125 (Canadian designation for the Zuma 125) will go 90+ km/h (56 MPH) fairly reliably on level ground. I tend to cruise at around 80 km/h (50 MPH) in fast places if left to myself.
Rider somewhere around 70 kg (154 lbs).”

“I cruise on my 125 daily at 50mph. It maxes out at 60, but I keep it at 50 to not strain the engine too much. 125cc should be perfect for you, as long as you’re not going on the freeway.”

“One thing to keep in mind it the licensing. I dont know what state you’re in, but in most you can drive with just a drivers license up to 50cc, anything more than that and you need a motorcycle license. BUT depending on your state, you can take motorcycle courses to get your license in a week.”

Reviews:

“I purchased 3 of the e-Zip 750s, unfortunately not from Amazon b/c at the time a competitor had them offered at a better price.

In short – it’s fantastic! I’m 40-ish, and riding this makes me feel like a kid again! Must add that although they are built in China, the build quality is great, it’s very solid and well-constructed. Instructions were clear (with TONS of safety warnings, I’m sure put in by their attorneys due to our over-litigious society), and the scooter’s performance is very good. Only small gripes: I’m about 185#, and I’d wish for about 20-25% more power. Not that it’s underpowered, but going up hills with me onboard definitely slows it down. For lighter riders, it’s not an issue at all. Also, this model has a side-pull front brake only; it’d be safer with front and rear brakes, and ideally disc brakes. But higher models have this, I am sure this was a trade-off made for the price point.

Also forgot to add: the interest and positive reaction these receive from bystanders is amazing! I have some exotic cars, and I think this scooter gets more thumbs-up, smiles, and inquiries! It’s pretty amazing the reaction it gets. Even moreso in Europe, where I brought one for seasonal use. There’s a LOT of interest in the scooter, and I’m surprised Currie doesn’t do more to advertise/demonstrate them; I am sure they could sell a bunch more if more people were made aware just how cool these little scooters are.

In summary: this is a well-built and engineered, fun, and environmentally friendly little means of transport! I find excuses (‘oh, just realized, need to go to the post office again’) to take it out, it’s that fun. Get one, whether you’re a 13-year old or 43, you will love it.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”

“This scooter was impossible to find at any of the local stores. Thanks to Amazon for having them in stock. I ordered on the 23rd and received on the 27th due to me ordering them 1hr. past the deadline for a Friday (Dec. 23rd) delivery. Anyway, Upon receipt of the scooters (2 purchased), unboxing revealed that both tail lights were broken in shipping. From looking at how they were packaged, you can see why. The scooters themselves were actually heavy and sturdy. This IS NOT A TOY scooter. This thing feels sturdier than some cars I’ve seen. Assembly took 1 hr. for both scooter and was very simple. I can’t stress enough how well built and designed these things are. The kick stand is literally a 1/4″ piece of steel attached with a very sturdy spring and has no issues holding the scooter in place with authority. The wheels and tires came pre-inflated and are of high quality rubber. The On/Off switch is a toggle switch and is placed on the lower section of the steering column above the Charging port. The charging port has a little swing away door that moves out of the way when you plug in the charger. Upon connecting the battery and turning the scooter on, there is a battery charge indicator on the right handle bar that shows how much juice remains in the battery…nice feature. After putting everything together, the charge indicator said full, so the kids each received a 15 second ride down the street and back and so did I. I weight approx 190lbs and it never checked up (stalled or hesitated) even from a dead stop. It was quite impressive how this thing handles and how fast it moves. Needless to say, after the small test drive they both went on the charger and there they sit till tonight. I must advise that if your child is going to ride this, a helmet is a MUST… IT IS FAST enough to cause some pretty bad injuries if you fall off at top speed.

I will be buying two eZip 1000′s for my wife and I to ride with the kids as well. GREAT PRODUCT !!!!

Only thing left is to get the two tail lights replaced.

AWESOME PRODUCT, WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WITH KIDS.”

“This was purchased by my 9 year old daughter with her savings after her 11 year old brother received one for his birthday. They BOTH love their scooters and my husband and I have fun riding them around as well! The charge is just fine and the speed is perfect. They are made very durable and there’s not one thing I can complain about. The kids ride them everyday and just throw them on the charge when they’re done so they’re always ready. We have not run out of battery time at all. This is a fantastic toy for all to enjoy.”

“This electric scooter is great. Actually this is my second one of this kind. It doesnt get any better. A++. Rode it from/to work for several months. Not much electricity consumption. Little slow on hills. My weigth is around 180 lbs + backpack. Definitely recommend it.”

“My 12-year-old daughter saved and bought this scooter by herself after researching other models. The scooter has more pep than I thought – it has a fast start that can surprise riders not expecting it. It can carry my daughter and her friend around the neighborhood easily. Very happy with this buy.”

TRX Personal Transporter Scooter

This is a very well made, cost-efficient scooter for covering significant ground in comfort and style. While perhaps not appealing to teenagers who like to go very fast, it’s top speed of 12 mph is certainly more than adequate. A large diameter from wheel with cast spokes and two smaller rear wheels add significant stability to this scooter. All wheels are mountain bike quality tires, and the two rear wheels appear to be solid rubber. In between the two rear wheels is a large “razor scooter-like” tire which adds stability to the scooter if you were to tip back.

A large rubber covered platform to stand on makes this scooter easy to ride. Note that you need to stand a bit toward the front of the platform so that the scooter does not angle back, but this does not impede the quality or ease of use of the ride. The scooter is easy to put together–10 mins max, and comes with all tools you need, although having a vise-grip is helpful. Also has a very small turning radius if that is a requirement. All-in-all, a fun and cost effective way to get around, sort of like the poor man’s Segway.

Product Features

  • Incredibly tight two-foot turning radius
  • 16-inch front air-filled tire
  • Eight-inch rear rubber puncture-proof tires
  • Six-inch rear urethane wheels that prevent scooter from tipping over and allow for trick riding
  • Maximum weight of 220 pounds
  • Speeds up to 12 mph (depending on rider’s weight)
  • Requires 36V/7AH rechargeable battery and UL-listed charger (included)
  • Adult assembly required

Reviews

Here’s what one reviewer had to say, “First off I’m heavy set and over the weight limit. It STILL performed very well. Got good speed and can make tight turns in a narrow aisle. Plus it works well at getting people to sign up. I love using this thing. I used it for almost 2 hours before it started to loose power. My added bulk makes it have to work harder but it still works great. If a grown adult employee can love this thing I’m certain a ten year old kid would love it too.”

Another reviewer said, “Quality is one of the best and safety factor is very good compare to two-wheel electric scooter. This is a fun mechine for both adults and children.”

Reviews

Here’s what one reviewer had to say, “First off the segway is a life saver for me. Years ago I was in a pretty bad accident that rendered me at first 100 percent immobile, currently I get around with adaptive devices, canes, forearm crutches and such. That is why the segway is so awesome for me; I can travel in miles instead of meters (yes I just compared standard to metric). So if you don’t know, the segway travels about 12 mph for up to 20 miles and weighs around 110 lbs.”

Segway x2 Golf Scooter

The Segway x2 Golf is your solution to effortless maneuverability on the golf course. The Segway x2 Golf is equipped with deeply treated, turf-friendly tires that let you travel on the grass and off the cart path for a faster game. As a result, you can zip from the tee to the sand dunes to the green in no time. It even includes a higher ground clearance than the original Segway, helping it handle steep hills, uneven trails, and errant rocks. If you’re a golfer, you’ll love it. If you’re not a golfer, you’ll want to go along for the ride.

The Segway x2 Golf travels easily over steep hills and rough terrain

The integrated scorecard holder offers dedicated slots for a scorecard, golf balls, and tees.
As with the traditional Segway, the rider controls the x2 Golf by leaning slightly in any direction. To move forward or backward, lean slightly forward or back. To turn left or right, simply move the LeanSteer frame left or right. You get the same sense of power and speed as riding in a vehicle, but you also feel safe and absolutely in control. Best of all, the x2 Golf can take you places that a car or bicycle can’t, including inside many stores, office buildings, businesses, airports, and trains.

The x2 Golf is also equipped with a couple of golf-specific accessories to enhance your golfing experience. The golf bag carrier attachment, for example, secures your golf bag to the x2, yet still allows for easy dismount and club access while playing. In addition, the x2 includes a scorecard holder that keeps your scorecard, golf balls, and tees readily accessible. And as a final bonus, the x2 Golf puts you well above the greens, giving you a terrific perspective on the various breaks and dips. So do away with clunky carts and get mobile on the course with the Segway x2 Golf.

Voyager Seated Knee Walker

Say Goodbye to Crutches with the Voyager Seated Knee Walker by Forward Mobility

The Voyager is a great alternative to crutches, especially for those who can’t use a knee scooter because of an inability to kneel. One thing to be aware of: Make sure you GET THE LARGE GEL SEAT. Many of the units come with the original bike style seat that is perfect for bicyclists, but hurts most people. A quick-release basket that hangs on the handle bars is also helpful to carry things (water bottle, phone, purse, TV Remote, etc.) as your hands are occupied steering.

Reviews

Here’s what one reviewer had to say, “I recently had foot surgery and was not allowed to put any weight on my foot for 10 weeks. The voyager made getting around easy, both at home and outside. I probably would not have ventured out of the house during my first 10 weeks of recovery without the Voyager. I plan on continuing to use it until my foot is properly healed in 8 months. It’s much better than the knee scooter that the doctor originally suggested.”

Here’s what another reviewer had to say, “This product was exactly as stated. It arrived in good time and I tried using it right away. I have a broken foot and it must be elevated at all times and have no weight on it whatsoever. The foot rest does not move so I could not adjust it to the proper position for my foot. Also, I felt unsteady. With not being able to put my one foot down for support, I was afraid I would fall. I returned the item and I am waiting for the refund to be posted to my account. This product would be good for someone that needs support but is not limited to using only one foot.”
